Lord Howe Islanders
I It seems like everyone on Lord Howe Island has a couple of different jobs. As there are only 400 Islanders this practice is necessary to keep services available for locals and tourists! Islanders are very cooperative in dropping you back at your accomodation after dinner out. One night we waited for the Bowlo chef to clean up the kitchen before he could drop us and other tourists back in the minibus! His regular driver was off sick. here are some thumbnail sketches of some

Lord Howe Island Paradise
You know you will find a beautiful pristine beach, the water and coral lagoon beckon as you fly in! Ned’s Beach , where the water is extremely clear, and the natural vegetation runs down to the sands became my favourite part of Lord Howe Island! The Sooty Terns nesting on the shallow dune are unperturbed, the first indication of the slice of paradise as I walk down to the beach. The colourful fish swimming around people in the water. But there were many other wonderful place

Industrial Sydney
Another type of Landscape painting that I love, is to wander around with my sketchbook capturing the angles, shadows and dark spaces between walls of old industrial Sydney. Cockatoo Island / Waremah intersects the homelands of the Wallummedegal, Wangal, Cammeraygal, and Gadigal peoples. It was also added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2010. The island was a penal se

Bush Tracks
A favourite leisure activity is setting off along a bush track with a bottle of water, snacks, sneakers and a hat. Some of the loveliest vistas open up as the ridge is crested or the path winds around. These sketches have all been done in the southern part of Sydney Australia, mainly in our amazing Royal National Park. Walking along Lady Carrington Drive, and the Hacking River Grays Point fire trail Another look at Grays Point Spring Flowers in the Kamay National Park

Trees, Rocks and Water
Most of my paintings fall into this category because the combination contains many interesting textures and elements. Light falling through the trees, creating shade on rocks or water! The contrast of smooth barked Angophoras with the rough and uneven textures of sandstone! Rippling water flowing past Grey Mangrove trees with their feet still in the water!
